Galanthus glory

Well.  I wasn’t sure what to write for my very first post.  The title of my blog is wet and windy, as here in the Lake District it is like that a lot!  But that is not very cheerful and doesn’t make pretty pictures.

whilst pondering I went outside to fill up the bird feeders, and there, hiding away under the hedges were little green men with white hats.  One of the prettiest flowers in the garden, and one of the first.

As soon as Glananthus; aka the snowdrop raises its pretty head, I chop them off at their feet to bring  inside.  They are always the first cut flowers of the year  And what a start.

this species although unknown has I single flower head, I also have doubles but they are not out yet.  I will take photographs and post them as soon as they come out.
