I woke up at 6 and nothing, but by 6.30 snow was falling heavily. I had “planned” to go to work……………. but………….. I didn’t.
So fire lit, then out to feed the animals, the chickens are never impressed by snow, all a bit deep for their little legs. The horses were happy once they had haylege.
So out for a walk with Ellie.
We headed across the fields and round the tarn, climbing up and back round.
My farmer neighbour had been out and given his sheep some hay so they were all happy.
It was nice to see that even in February there are flowers out and about. I have snowdrops now in the garden, but the gorse is in full flower and the vinca has the odd purple flower to brighten the roadside (where I imagine it was once dumped).
Ellie ran miles, and it was only after we got home that I realised she was collecting snow as she went. All her feathers on her legs were wrapped in snow balls… she was not very impressed and left a puddle on my kitchen floor!!
happy snowy day.
